Karachi (HRNW) – The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), Karachi Zone, has announced the arrest of seven suspects allegedly involved in a human smuggling network during a raid conducted by the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle (AHTC), Karachi.
According to the FIA, the operation was carried out in North Nazimabad under the directions of the Director FIA Karachi Zone. Authorities allege that the suspects were operating offices under different names across Karachi, where they deceived citizens by promising employment opportunities and migration to Europe.
Investigators stated that the group had established an office in a rented building from which the alleged illegal activities were conducted.
During the raid, FIA officials reportedly recovered hundreds of Pakistani passports, laptop computers, alleged firearms, police uniforms, and other material believed to be relevant to the investigation. The recovered items have been taken into custody for further forensic examination and legal proceedings.
According to the preliminary investigation, the suspects allegedly charged between PKR 800,000 and PKR 1 million per person by promising overseas jobs and visas. FIA officials said that 52 alleged victims have so far come forward, while efforts continue to identify additional victims and other suspected members of the network.
