Karachi (HRNW) – The Karachi Investigation Police, Keamari South Zone, have announced the arrest of the alleged prime suspect in the murder of a 16-year-old girl in Keamari, following an investigation that relied on forensic and technical evidence.
According to police, the body of 16-year-old Armeesh was discovered in a flat in the Keamari area on 4 March. Her father had passed away, and she was living with her mother. A criminal case was initially registered against unknown persons based on a complaint filed by the victim’s mother.
Police stated that an investigation team led by Inspector Zubair Nawaz used technical analysis, forensic evidence, and other investigative methods to identify and arrest the suspect, Faizan, who is described as the victim’s former fiancé and a close relative.
According to the investigation, the suspect allegedly held a grudge after the victim ended their engagement and became engaged to another person. Police allege that on the day of the incident, while the victim’s mother was at work, the suspect entered the apartment, allegedly sexually assaulted the victim, and then strangled her to death.
Investigators further stated that the suspect and the victim lived in the same residential building. Police allege that after the incident, the suspect attempted to avoid suspicion by participating in efforts to help police search for the perpetrator. However, technical and forensic evidence reportedly led investigators to identify and arrest him.
The suspect is expected to be produced before a court for physical remand, while the investigation continues.
