Islamabad / Peshawar (HRNW) – The United States has officially closed its Consulate General in Peshawar, transferring responsibility for diplomatic engagement and public outreach in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Unit (KPU) at the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad.
In a statement posted on its official X account, the U.S. Consulate General Peshawar announced that its social media page is no longer active and advised the public to follow the U.S. Embassy in Pakistan on Facebook, Instagram, and X for future updates.
The statement added that information regarding U.S. efforts to promote trade and commercial relations, strengthen security cooperation, and expand partnerships with the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and across Pakistan will now be shared through the U.S. Embassy’s official website and social media platforms.
The transition means that diplomatic engagement and public communication concerning Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be coordinated through the Embassy in Islamabad.
