Karachi (HRNW) – Karachi Police have arrested a man accused of allegedly sexually assaulting a foreign national in the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) area of the city. The arrest was made one day after the Darakhshan Police Station registered a First Information Report (FIR) based on the complainant’s statement.
According to police and media reports, the complainant is a medical assistant specializing in cardiology in the United States. She arrived in Pakistan on 13 November 2025 and had been residing in DHA Phase VI, Karachi.
The case has been registered under Section 376 of the Pakistan Penal Code, which pertains to the offence of rape.
According to the FIR, the complainant stated that during the early hours of 17 July, she allowed a man who had accompanied her home to have a drink at her apartment. She alleged that she later regained awareness and discovered that the man was sexually assaulting her.
The complainant further alleged that she resisted, screamed for help, and physically confronted the suspect, who then fled the apartment on a motorcycle. According to the FIR, nearby residents responded to her cries, assisted her, and helped her return safely to her apartment.
She also alleged that the suspect later returned to retrieve his mobile phone, resulting in another confrontation before he fled the scene again.
Police have confirmed the suspect’s arrest and stated that the investigation is ongoing.
