ANF Seizes Over 330kg of Drugs Worth Rs27 Million, Arrests 16 Suspects in Nationwide Crackdown

Islamabad (HRNW)- The Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) has arrested 16 suspects, including seven women and two Thai nationals, during a nationwide anti-smuggling campaign, recovering 330.192 kilograms of narcotics worth more than Rs27 million.

According to an ANF spokesperson, the force carried out eight operations targeting drug trafficking near educational institutions and in several cities across Pakistan.

In one operation near the Islamabad Toll Plaza, ANF officials recovered 2 kilograms of crystal meth (ice) from a man and a woman traveling on a passenger bus. During interrogation, the suspects allegedly confessed to supplying drugs to students at educational institutions.

At Islamabad International Airport, ANF recovered 1.878 kilograms of ice from the luggage of two Thai women traveling to Abu Dhabi. In another airport operation, 14.314 kilograms of ice, concealed within clothing belonging to a man and a woman traveling to Jeddah, was also seized.

In Karachi, ANF recovered 16 kilograms of ice hidden inside 14 men’s jackets packed in a parcel destined for Australia from a courier office on Shahrah-e-Faisal, arresting one suspect. Another operation at a courier office in Federal B Area led to the seizure of 7 kilograms of heroin concealed in a box of socks intended for shipment to Italy.

Near Sher Shah Toll Plaza in Multan, authorities recovered 226.80 kilograms of hashish hidden inside a truck carrying marble and arrested one suspect. At Sheikhupura Toll Plaza, ANF seized 61.2 kilograms of hashish from a vehicle and arrested five suspects.

In Lahore, ANF officials recovered 1 kilogram of ice from the possession of three women near Ravi Toll Plaza, leading to their arrest.

The ANF spokesperson said cases have been registered against all suspects under the Control of Narcotic Substances Act, 1997, and further investigations are underway.
