Farooq Sattar Issues Stark Warning to Federal Government Over Karachi’s Rights

Islamabad (HRNW): MQM leader Farooq Sattar has demanded that Karachi be included in the new national charter and that a fully empowered local government system be established in the city.

Speaking at a press conference in Islamabad, he warned that if Karachi’s issues continue to be ignored, a “million-strong sit-in” will be organized. Farooq Sattar emphasized that national development is not possible without a robust urban governance system and noted that the federal government was alerted to shortcomings following the Gul Plaza incident.

He also clarified that while MQM remains an ally, it will continue to highlight deficiencies and demand accountability.
