Karachi (HRNW): In a dramatic development, a team of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) visited the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) head office and reportedly broke open the lock of a land record room during an ongoing inquiry.
According to sources, the FIA team first went to the office of Municipal Commissioner Samira Hussain upon arrival at the KMC headquarters. The team later proceeded to the land record room located on the second floor. When they found it locked, FIA officials reportedly became upset and had the lock broken.
Sources say the investigation is underway following complaints of alleged irregularities in the land records.
However, KMC officials maintain that it was not a raid, stating that the FIA had arrived to obtain specific land records. The FIA has reportedly taken the required documents into custody.
