CTD Sindh Busts Inter-Provincial Illegal Arms Smuggling Network in Karachi

Karachi (HRNW) — The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Sindh, under the leadership of ATMD Delec, Intelligence Wing, successfully conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Karachi, dismantling a well-organized inter-provincial illegal arms smuggling network.

During the operation, CTD apprehended Salman, son of Banaras Khan, a resident of Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), who was actively involved in the transfer and distribution of illegal firearms across various districts of Sindh.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspect frequently traveled from KP to Sindh to supply illegal pistols, receiving orders via social media platforms including Facebook and WhatsApp, indicating a structured and repeatable modus operandi.

During his latest trip, the suspect brought five pistols into Sindh. Two of these were supplied in Khairpur and Hyderabad, while three pistols along with 50 live cartridges were recovered from his possession at the time of his arrest in Karachi.

This arrest exposed an active inter-provincial arms supply network operating through social media, which posed a serious threat to public safety and contributed to the growth of organized crime in Sindh.

Investigations are ongoing to identify other suppliers, financial channels, and facilitators involved in the network. Further arrests and seizures are expected as the case develops.

CTD Sindh reaffirmed its commitment to eliminating terrorist and criminal networks and ensuring the protection of lives and property of the public.
