Multan (HRNW): A newlywed couple was allegedly abducted while returning from a court in Shujabad tehsil of Multan, but police carried out a timely operation and safely recovered the couple, while legal action has been initiated against the alleged suspects.
According to police, the couple had filed a harassment petition at the Shujabad court and was returning after the proceedings when armed individuals allegedly surrounded them and abducted the bride and groom at gunpoint.
After receiving information about the incident, City Police Station Shujabad launched an operation, pursued the suspects, and recovered the abducted couple safely.
Police officials said the action was carried out under the supervision of SHO Imran Niazi, following which further proceedings against the alleged perpetrators were initiated.
A case has been registered against Muhammad Shaukat, Muhammad Ibrahim, Muhammad Ramzan, along with 7 to 8 unidentified suspects, under Section 365 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC). Police investigations are ongoing.
