Karachi (HRNW) – The Investigation District Keamari, South Zone Karachi, has arrested a Pakistan Ports Authority/Karachi Port Trust (KPT) employee allegedly involved in deceiving citizens by promising government jobs and collecting millions of rupees through fraudulent means.
According to the investigation team of KPT Police Station, a large number of alleged fake documents, including appointment letters, service cards, medical letters, identity cards, and other official-looking documents, were recovered from the possession of the arrested suspect.
Police stated that initially a case of forgery was registered at KPT Police Station against a person named Muhammad Saad, after he allegedly arrived at KPT carrying fake appointment letters and other suspicious documents.
During the investigation, authorities allegedly discovered that a KPT employee was involved in the fraud scheme. The employee was subsequently nominated in the case and arrested. Police identified the arrested suspect as Faraz Asif Khan, who is reportedly working as a clerk at KPT.
According to investigators, questioning of the arrested suspect has revealed important details, indicating the possible involvement of an organized network allegedly deceiving citizens by promising government employment in exchange for large sums of money.
The operation was conducted by Inspector Nadeem Akbar, SIO KPT Police Station, along with his team. Police stated that further investigation is underway, affected individuals are being identified, and raids are being conducted to arrest other alleged members of the network.
The SSP Investigation Keamari stated that the investigation is continuing to identify all individuals allegedly involved in the fraud and bring them before the law.
