Karachi (HRNW)- The main Rabi-ul-Awwal procession in Karachi has begun from Bolton Market’s Memon Mosque, with Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah, Governor Sindh Muhammad Nehal Hashmi, Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar, IG Sindh, Mayor Karachi and other prominent officials participating.
The procession, organized by Jamaat Ahle Sunnat Pakistan and led by Shah Abdul Haq, proceeded from Memon Mosque. The Sindh chief minister congratulated the Muslim Ummah on Eid Milad-un-Nabi and said he was honored to participate in the centuries-old main procession.
Governor Sindh also addressed participants, emphasizing the message of caring for others and congratulating Muslims on the occasion.
Strict security arrangements have been implemented along the procession routes, with police, law-enforcement personnel and bomb-disposal teams deployed. Barriers have also been installed, while traffic police have established diversions and advised citizens to use alternative routes.
According to the traffic police, the movement of heavy and commercial vehicles has been restricted in Karachi on 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal. Mosques across the country have also been decorated with lights, with Milad gatherings, Naat recitations and Durood-o-Salaam continuing.
