Islamabad (HRNW) — A new mechanism for determining petroleum product prices has been introduced, under which prices will be calculated on a daily basis.
According to the new procedure, no changes will be made to petroleum product prices on Saturdays and Sundays, while the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) will not require prior government approval for daily price adjustments.
Sources stated that petrol prices will be determined daily based on import costs and premiums. In case petrol is not imported during a specific period, prices will be calculated using the annual average premium.
Under the revised system, OGRA will also publish global reference prices for petroleum products on its official website to improve transparency in the pricing process.
