Pakistan, US Agree to Strengthen Cooperation on Counter-Terrorism and Cybercrime

Washington (HRNW)- Pakistan’s Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Kash Patel in Washington to discuss expanding bilateral cooperation in counter-terrorism, cybercrime, intelligence sharing, and law enforcement.

According to media reports, Mohsin Naqvi shared details of the meeting on the social media platform X, stating that both sides discussed enhancing cooperation through modern resources, technical assistance, specialized cyber investigation training, illegal immigration initiatives, counter-terrorism measures, and officer exchange programs.

The Interior Minister described the meeting as productive and praised FBI Director Kash Patel, saying that his professionalism and leadership make him an effective partner for Pakistan.

According to the FBI, the objective of the enhanced cooperation is to strengthen efforts against terrorist financing and improve the capacity to investigate cybercrime in Pakistan and at the international level.

In a statement shared on social media, Kash Patel said that the partnership with Pakistan is important and that the FBI values Pakistan’s cooperation in safeguarding American interests in the region. He also expressed hope for further strengthening law enforcement cooperation between the two countries.

The meeting comes as Pakistan and the United States seek to expand collaboration on counter-terrorism, cybercrime, intelligence sharing, and cross-border crime prevention.

Mohsin Naqvi’s visit is part of a series of high-level engagements with US officials and his participation in the United Nations’ UN COPS 2026 conference.
