Kathmandu (HRNW)- Nepal has issued a fresh flood alert for August 30, 2026, amid fears of further flooding and landslides in several affected areas.
Authorities have advised residents living near rivers and rescue teams in Rasuwa, Nuwakot and Dhading to remain on high alert after a sudden increase in water flow and unusual noise was reported in the Bhote Koshi River.
Many areas remain buried under mud and debris following the recent devastating floods, while rescue and recovery operations continue. Rising river levels have increased concerns about additional flooding and landslides.
Nepal’s Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has continued issuing warnings about further rainfall and flooding. According to the latest official figures provided in the report, 734 people have died and around 2,500 remain missing in Nepal, while the combined death toll in Nepal and Tibet has reached approximately 750.
