Tehran (HRNW)- Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf has called on Muslim countries to strengthen unity and regional cooperation, saying lasting security cannot depend on the presence or intervention of external powers.
In his message, Qalibaf said Sunni-Shiite unity in Iran represents an important foundation of national strength, security and development. He emphasized that different ethnic and religious communities should remain united in the face of external challenges.
The Iranian parliament speaker said recent regional developments have demonstrated the limitations of relying on outside powers for security. He argued that cooperation among neighboring Muslim countries could provide a more stable, dignified and sustainable security framework.
Qalibaf also pointed to emerging regional alliances and cooperation as signs of a possible new era in which Muslim countries rely more on their own capabilities and pursue cooperation rather than confrontation.
He expressed hope that stronger bonds of brotherhood would develop among Muslim nations and that the region would move toward greater unity, sovereignty, security and self-determination.
