Karachi Scorches as Temperature Hits 43°C; Citizens Urged to Take Precautions

KARACHI (HRNW): The city of Karachi remains gripped by an intense and dry heatwave today as the sun continues to radiate extreme heat, pushing the temperature up to 43°C. According to the Meteorological Department, the humidity level in the city has dropped to a mere 7% while hot and dry winds from the northwest are blowing at a speed of 19 kilometers per hour. In light of these blistering conditions, citizens are strongly advised to prioritize their safety and that of their loved ones, as such extreme weather can lead to dangerous health complications like heatstroke. To stay protected, individuals should increase their intake of water and fluids throughout the day, wear light-colored and loose-fitting cotton clothes, and avoid unnecessary outdoor exposure between 11:00 AM and 4:00 PM. Special care should be provided to children, the elderly, and the sick, and residents are also encouraged to place water outside for birds, who are equally vulnerable to this severe heat.
