Earthquake Jolts Islamabad and Rawalpindi with 5.2 Magnitude; Panic Among Citizens

ISLAMABAD (HRNW): Tremors from a magnitude 5.2 earthquake were felt across the federal capital, Islamabad, and the twin city of Rawalpindi, causing widespread panic among residents. According to the Seismological Center, the earthquake struck at a depth of 128 kilometers, with its epicenter located near the Tajikistan-China border. While the intensity caused alarm, initial reports indicate no loss of life or property damage in these areas. Earlier, a separate earthquake measuring 3.9 on the Richter scale was recorded in the Khuzdar district of Balochistan and its surroundings. This shallower quake, originating at a depth of 10 kilometers with an epicenter 62 kilometers southeast of Khuzdar, also caused significant concern among the local population.
