Karachi (HRNW)- Karachi received negligible rainfall during this year’s monsoon season, while most parts of interior Sindh also recorded below-normal precipitation. The Meteorological Department has now forecast below-normal rainfall across the province from September to November.
According to meteorological models, predominantly dry weather is expected in Sindh, with southeastern parts of the province likely to receive particularly low rainfall. Most areas, including Karachi, have a limited chance of significant rainfall during the coming three months.
The department has warned that some areas of Sindh could face a continued rainfall deficit during September, October and November.
In contrast, above-normal rainfall is forecast for upper Punjab, Kashmir and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Meteorological conditions are expected to continue being influenced by El Niño and the Indian Ocean Dipole (IOD).
