Islamabad (HRNW)- On the occasion of World Press Freedom Day, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif paid tribute to journalists, reporters, editors, broadcasters, and all media professionals in Pakistan and around the world for their dedicated services in keeping society informed. In his message, the Prime Minister emphasized that authentic, impartial, and verified journalism is essential for building an informed and conscious society, while urging media professionals to uphold professional values by rejecting propaganda, fake news, and unverified information. Referring to this year’s theme, “Creating a Peaceful Future,” he said responsible journalism plays a vital role in promoting peace, strengthening diplomacy, and shaping constructive public opinion at both national and international levels. He highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to dialogue, peace, and regional stability, while also acknowledging the national media’s role in informing the public, countering misinformation, and reflecting the country’s unity during critical times. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also reaffirmed his government’s commitment to protecting press freedom, promoting responsible journalism, and creating a safe and supportive environment for media professionals.
