Karachi: Central Vice Chairman of Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen Allama Ahmad Iqbal Rizvi, while addressing a general workers’ meeting, announced that a grand gathering will be held on May 3 at Nishtar Park under the banner of Shia organizations to renew allegiance to the martyred leader Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei and the martyrs of the resistance.
He said the event would bring together leaders from different schools of thought, religious scholars, political and religious figures, and a large number of people. He described the gathering not only as an expression of renewed commitment but also as a voice of the people of Pakistan against global arrogance, Zionism and oppression.
Addressing the meeting, Rizvi said committees had been formed to ensure preparations for the May 3 gathering, including public outreach campaigns, reception camps, district and unit-level mobilization, and measures to guarantee massive public participation. He urged party workers to utilize all their energies to make the event historic and exemplary.
He also strongly condemned the killing of Shia youths in alleged firing by Marines at the U.S. Consulate in Karachi on March 1, demanding registration of a case against the U.S. ambassador, closure of the consulate, and expulsion of American diplomats and personnel from the country. He termed the incident intolerable and called on the government to adopt a clear stance on what he described as a matter of national dignity.
Expressing support for the Palestinian cause, Rizvi said Iran has consistently backed the oppressed people of Palestine, while accusing the United States and Israel of being responsible for terrorism, instability and bloodshed in the region. He said conspiracies against the Muslim Ummah under U.S. and Israeli patronage were unacceptable.
Criticizing what he called support by some Arab rulers for the United States, he said the Muslim world should stand with the oppressed Palestinians instead of aligning with imperial powers.
Rizvi said the May 3 gathering would serve as a major demonstration of resistance against global oppression, solidarity with Palestine, tribute to the martyrs of resistance, and unity and awareness of the Jafaria community. He appealed to all Shia groups, national organizations and the public to ensure full participation and make the historic gathering a success.
