KARACHI (HRNW): A major tragedy was narrowly averted in the Paposh area of Nazimabad, Karachi, when a school van caught fire due to a short circuit earlier today. According to rescue officials, all children on board were safely evacuated from the vehicle before the flames spread, ensuring no casualties among the students. While the van was completely gutted by the intense fire, the driver sustained minor burns to his hand while attempting to extinguish the blaze. Fire brigade teams arrived promptly at the scene to neutralize the fire, which had also caused partial damage to another vehicle parked in the vicinity. Local authorities have highlighted the incident as a reminder for school transport operators to ensure regular maintenance and safety checks of their vehicles’ electrical systems to prevent such dangerous occurrences.
