Traffic Police to Crack Down on 23,000 Blacklisted Vehicles After Eid

Karachi (HRNW)- The Traffic Police in Karachi have announced strict action against 23,000 blacklisted vehicles following Eid, as part of efforts to improve road safety and enforcement in the city.

The decision was taken during a high-level review meeting held at the Central Police Office Karachi under the chairmanship of IG Sindh Javed Alam Odho, where the overall performance of traffic arrangements and the faceless e-ticketing system were discussed.

The meeting was attended by senior officials including Additional IG Karachi, DIGs of Sindh Police Highways, Security and Emergency Division, Traffic Karachi, T&T, IT, and DG Safe City Authority.

DIG Traffic Karachi briefed the participants on traffic management during the last ten days of Ramadan and the performance of the Traffic Regulation and Citation System (TRACS). He stated that strict action will also be taken against motorcyclists riding without number plates.

According to the briefing, approximately 600,000 e-tickets have been issued since October 27, 2025, and further improvements are being made to enhance public convenience and service delivery.

Taking serious notice of the recent rise in traffic accidents, IG Sindh directed authorities to conduct a transparent and comprehensive investigation into the incidents and submit a detailed report, including recommendations for prevention.

He also instructed officials to propose effective measures against heavy vehicle drivers and motorcyclists who violate traffic laws, while terming the overall traffic arrangements during Ramadan as satisfactory.
