Tehran (HRNW)- Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has rejected the latest US economic sanctions campaign, saying Washington cannot force Tehran to accept its demands through economic pressure.
According to Iranian media, Pezeshkian said the United States would not achieve its objectives by increasing economic pressure on Iran, just as it failed to achieve its goals during the recent war. He stressed that Tehran has no intention of surrendering to US pressure.
The Iranian president said Iran is prepared to confront sanctions and economic difficulties, while the government will continue efforts to manage the impact of the restrictions on the country and its people.
The statement comes as Washington moves to intensify economic pressure on Iran, targeting sources of revenue and economic activity. Iran has already faced restrictions affecting oil exports, international trade, financial transactions and foreign investment.
Pezeshkian’s remarks indicate that Tehran remains committed to resisting US sanctions and is not currently prepared to change its policy in response to Washington’s economic pressure.
