Charsadda (HRNW): The release on bail of a suspect arrested in connection with the alleged murder of three brothers in Charsadda has prompted the victims’ family to raise serious concerns about the justice system.
According to the victims’ family, the suspect was allegedly arrested in Malaysia by relevant agencies and brought back to Pakistan, after which he was produced before the court.
The family said the court, during proceedings on Thursday, granted the suspect bail against surety bonds of Rs400,000, citing insufficient evidence.
The bereaved family questioned the decision and asked where victims should turn for justice if a suspect arrested in a serious murder case is released on bail due to alleged lack of sufficient evidence.
The family alleged that public confidence in the justice system is being eroded and questioned whether families of victims should continue to hope for justice in Pakistan.
The relatives demanded a transparent investigation into the deaths of the three brothers, saying all available evidence should be presented before the court and that anyone found responsible should be dealt with according to law.
