Karachi (HRNW) – The administrative judge of the Anti-Terrorism Court heard the case involving allegations of facilitation in an alleged anti-state speech linked to MQM leaders, where police produced five more accused persons arrested in an old case.
The court handed over the accused to police on physical remand until July 23 for further investigation.
According to police, the arrested accused include Hameed Pasha, Muhammad Tahseen, Muhammad Umar, Wasim, and Afaq Alam.
The investigation officer informed the court that further arrests of other alleged associates were required and requested physical remand to continue the investigation and complete legal procedures.
Police stated that the case was registered in 2016 at Brigade Police Station and that the accused were allegedly involved in facilitating an inflammatory speech considered by authorities to be anti-state.
The court was informed that in the same case, MQM leaders including Farooq Sattar, Rauf Siddiqui, Wasim Akhtar, and others were acquitted in November 2022.
