Girl Dies at Private Water Park in Lahore; Three Responsible Persons Arrested

Lahore (HRNW):Three individuals have been arrested by police in connection with the death of 10-year-old Rameen Fatima at a private water park in Lahore.

According to the police spokesperson, the preliminary investigation revealed that the girl died after falling into an open main drainage hole near the swimming pool. The incident reportedly occurred due to the absence of a safety cover or protective grill over the drain hole.

A case has been registered at Bata Pur Police Station on the complaint of the victim’s mother under FIR No. 1564/26. Police have also collected evidence from the scene, and an investigation is underway from all aspects.

According to the spokesperson of the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Operations, the arrested individuals include Water Park Manager Sanaullah, Security In-charge Naveed, and CCTV Camera In-charge Asif.

Police officials stated that the investigation is continuing to determine negligence and responsibility in the incident. They added that no person found responsible for negligence or misconduct will be considered above the law.

The DIG Operations said that those responsible for the child’s death will be dealt with according to the law, and Lahore Police will ensure that all legal requirements are fulfilled to provide justice to the affected family.
