Islamabad Court Upholds Non-Bailable Arrest Warrant for KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi

Islamabad (HRNW)- The District and Sessions Courts in Islamabad upheld the non-bailable arrest warrant of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and ordered his arrest and production before the court.

The case pertains to allegations that the KP Chief Minister made misleading statements against state institutions and damaged their reputation.

During the hearing, the court maintained the non-bailable arrest warrant due to Sohail Afridi’s non-appearance and directed the authorities to arrest him and produce him before the court.

Further proceedings could not continue because Senior Civil Judge Abbas Shah was unavailable. The court subsequently adjourned the hearing until July 21.

It is noteworthy that the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) has registered a case against Chief Minister Sohail Afridi under the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA).
