Islamabad (HRNW)- The PIMS administration has reconstituted an inquiry committee to investigate the fire that broke out at the PIMS MCH Nursery on August 26 and determine the causes and those responsible for the incident.
Professor Dr. Atif Inam Shami has been appointed chairman, while Professor Dr. Altaf Hussain and Professor Dr. Sajid Rafique Abbasi will serve as members. Deputy Executive Director Dr. Aneza Jalil has been appointed secretary.
The committee will examine the adequacy and functionality of fire-safety arrangements at the time of the incident, as well as the response of rescue and firefighting teams. It has also been directed to identify those responsible and submit clear recommendations.
The PIMS administration has ordered the committee to submit its detailed report to the Executive Director’s office within 48 hours. The committee was reconstituted following the unavailability of Professor Dr. Qasim Mahmood Butt.
