Major Breakthrough in FBR Inspector Shooting Case: Terrorism Charges Added

KARACHI (HRNW): Significant progress has been made in the investigation into the shooting of an FBR inspector, with Karachi police officially incorporating terrorism charges into the case.

According to details, the FBR inspector was injured due to firing by Agha Shaheer, the son of a former Superintendent of Police (SP). Police authorities have confirmed that the accused will now be prosecuted under the Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA).


Key Developments in the Investigation:

  • Terrorism Charges: Police officials stated that during the investigation, it was observed that weapons were used publicly against a citizen following a minor dispute. Due to the nature of the act and the terror it spread, sections of the Anti-Terrorism Act were added to the FIR.

  • Arrest of Facilitators: In a swift operation, police have arrested three individuals for allegedly facilitating the prime suspect’s escape.

    • Mazhar Ali was apprehended for allegedly helping the suspect flee to Shikarpur.

    • Agha Tahir Khan and Agha Musaddiq Khan were taken into custody from Shikarpur for allegedly hiding the suspect’s vehicle at their farmhouse (Dera).

  • Ongoing Legal Action: The arrested facilitators are being shifted to Karachi for further legal proceedings. Meanwhile, police teams are conducting raids to arrest the central suspect, Agha Shaheer, who remains at large.

The police have reiterated their commitment to bringing all those involved in the attack and its subsequent cover-up to justice, regardless of their background.
