Tragedy in Manghopir: 4-Year-Old Boy Killed by Speeding Water Tanker Near School

KARACHI (HRNW): A heartbreaking accident in the Manghopir area of Karachi has claimed the life of a young child after a water tanker struck students on their way to school. The incident occurred near the Ilyas Mosque and the local Ijtema Gah.

According to the victim’s family, the 4-year-old boy, identified as Hassan, was killed on the spot when a water tanker driving on the wrong side of the road hit him. In a particularly tragic detail, it was revealed that Hassan was a twin; his sudden death has left the family and the local community in a state of profound grief and shock.

Local residents expressed outrage following the incident, stating that such accidents have become a frequent occurrence in the area due to reckless driving and the lack of traffic regulation for heavy vehicles. They lamented that despite repeated tragedies, authorities have failed to curb the “tanker mafia” and the dangerous trend of driving on the wrong side of the road.

Police have arrived at the scene to initiate legal proceedings, while the community demands immediate measures to ensure the safety of children and pedestrians in the locality.
