ISLAMABAD (HRNW): Pakistan’s security forces have intensified their counter-terrorism operations under the national vision “Azm-e-Istehkam,” carrying out a series of highly effective intelligence-based operations (IBOs) over the last 24 hours. The operations targeted operatives of “Fitna al-Khawarij” (formerly TTP) and “Fitna al-Hindustan” (foreign-sponsored proxies), resulting in the elimination of 34 terrorists across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
On February 24, 2026, a total of 26 khawarij were killed in four separate engagements in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Simultaneously, a major operation in the Sambaza area of Zhob District, Balochistan, resulted in the death of 8 terrorists linked to Fitna al-Hindustan.
Detailed Operational Breakdown:
-
North Waziristan (Hassan Khel): Security forces successfully intercepted a group of khawarij attempting to infiltrate the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. One terrorist, identified as an Afghan national, was killed during the exchange.
-
Lakki Marwat: An IBO led to an intense firefight, resulting in the neutralization of 3 khawarij.
-
Bannu (Narmi Khel): Two distinct operations were conducted, leading to the elimination of 10 khawarij.
-
North Waziristan (Mir Ali): Based on precise intelligence, troops engaged and killed 12 more khawarij.
-
Zhob (Sambaza): In a fifth major engagement, 8 terrorists associated with Fitna al-Hindustan were killed following a fierce exchange of fire.
Large caches of weapons and ammunition were recovered from the deceased terrorists, which were intended for use in attacks against security forces and innocent civilians. Security officials reaffirmed that these operations are part of a broader commitment to secure Pakistan’s borders and eradicate foreign-sponsored terrorism. Clearance and sanitization efforts continue across the affected regions to ensure the complete elimination of any remaining threats.
