Islamabad (HRNW)- Following the death of 15 newborns in the nursery of PIMS Hospital, details of the hospital’s financial allocations and expenditures have come to light, showing that the federal government provided Rs 22 billion to PIMS over the past three years.
According to the details, the federal government allocated Rs 6.84 billion to PIMS last year, while the hospital administration spent Rs 7.51 billion, exceeding the allocated amount by around Rs 670 million. The hospital subsequently received an additional Rs 660 million.
For the current year, the government has allocated Rs 7.63 billion to PIMS. The federal government also provided Rs 500 million for repairs and maintenance last year, while Rs 230 million has been allocated for the same purpose this year.
The financial details have emerged amid questions over hospital administration and facilities following the tragic deaths in the PIMS nursery.
