Islamabad (HRNW)- Details regarding the installation of smart meters across Pakistan were presented in the Senate, with the Ministry of Energy informing the House that 2,125,296 smart meters have been installed across the country’s power distribution companies (DISCOs).
The Senate session was held under the chairmanship of Presiding Officer Shahadat Awan, during which the Ministry of Energy submitted a written response regarding the smart-meter installation.
According to the ministry, LESCO has installed the highest number of smart meters at 1,153,556, followed by GEPCO with 348,135 and MEPCO with 229,719. IESCO has installed 119,372, FESCO 111,948, PESCO 60,685 and K-Electric 50,599.
The ministry further stated that HESCO has installed 19,620 smart meters, SEPCO 13,432, KESCO 9,194, HAZICO 7,659 and TESCO 1,377.
