Alleged Illegal Construction in North Karachi; SBCA Urged to Take Immediate Action

Karachi (HRNW) — August 24, 2026: Reports have emerged of alleged construction of an unauthorized portion at House No. A-737, Sector 11-B, North Karachi, near Indus University, prompting calls for immediate action by the relevant authorities.

Residents and complainants have questioned why the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has not taken action if the reported construction is being carried out without the required approvals.

They have urged SBCA Deputy Director Kamal Ahmed to take immediate notice of the matter and arrange an on-site inspection to determine whether the construction complies with applicable building regulations.

The complainants have further demanded that if the construction is found to be illegal, authorities should take immediate legal action and remove the unauthorized structure in accordance with the law.

They have also called on NAB, the Anti-Corruption Establishment and Central Deputy Commissioner Taha Saleem to conduct a transparent and impartial inquiry to determine whether any negligence, collusion or misuse of influence was involved.
