Lahore (HRNW)- A tragic road accident in Kot Lakhpat, Lahore, claimed the life of a one-and-a-half-year-old girl after a speeding truck reportedly struck a motorcycle carrying a family.
According to reports, the truck hit the motorcycle, leaving the toddler dead on the spot while her parents sustained serious injuries and were shifted for medical treatment.
Following the accident, an angry crowd caught the truck driver and allegedly assaulted him before Traffic Inspector Kot Lakhpat arrived at the scene, rescued the driver, and took him into custody.
The Lahore Traffic Police later handed over the driver, the truck, and the damaged motorcycle to the relevant police station for further legal proceedings.
Officials said the Lahore Traffic Police had previously written to the relevant authorities, recommending improved training for drivers associated with the Suthra Punjab initiative in an effort to enhance road safety.
