Sidon (HRNW)- At least nine Syrian refugees from the same family, including six children, were killed in an Israeli airstrike in southern Lebanon, according to Lebanese officials and local media reports.
According to reports, Israeli warplanes targeted a residential home belonging to a Syrian refugee family in the town of Adlon, near the southern city of Sidon. The attack resulted in the deaths of nine family members, including several children.
Lebanon’s state news agency NNA reported that the strike hit a civilian residence, causing extensive destruction and trapping victims under the rubble.
The Lebanese Ministry of Health confirmed that all nine bodies recovered from the debris belonged to members of the same family. Officials said the victims were Syrian refugees who had fled the conflict in their home country and sought safety in Lebanon.
The incident comes amid continued military tensions in the region. Lebanese authorities have noted that Israeli attacks have continued despite a ceasefire agreement that reportedly came into effect on April 17.
The latest strike has raised fresh concerns over civilian casualties and the humanitarian impact of ongoing military operations in southern Lebanon.
