Kyiv (HRNW)- Ukraine has introduced a unique digital incentive system in its ongoing conflict with Russia, under which military units are awarded points for successfully striking Russian military targets, a move that some observers have described as a “video game-style” approach to modern warfare.
According to reports, Ukrainian drone operators and military units upload video footage as evidence of successful attacks on Russian soldiers, equipment or military assets. After verification, units receive points that can later be redeemed for drones, electronic warfare systems and other military equipment.
The initiative is reportedly part of the Army of Drones Bonus and E-Points Program, which Ukrainian officials say is designed to improve battlefield performance, enhance resource allocation and increase the operational effectiveness of front-line units.
Supporters of the system argue that it creates measurable performance standards and helps direct military resources to the most effective units. However, critics have raised ethical concerns, saying that assigning points to combat actions involving human lives risks turning the tragedy of war into a form of competition.
The development highlights the growing role of drone technology, digital systems and artificial intelligence in modern warfare. Analysts say the Russia-Ukraine conflict continues to serve as a testing ground for new military technologies and innovative battlefield strategies.
