Khyber Girls Medical College Peshawar: Tailor’s Daughter Sets Record with 17 Gold Medals

Peshawar (HRNW): Students of Khyber Girls Medical College (KGMC) Peshawar have achieved a historic milestone, securing a record-breaking number of gold medals during their convocation.

A Remarkable Academic Feat

Qandeel Murtaza, the daughter of a tailor, delivered an extraordinary performance by clinching 17 gold medals, setting a new academic record. As her name was announced, the hall erupted in thunderous applause. Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa presented the medals to Qandeel, who was accompanied by her father on stage.

Qandeel hails from Haripur. Her father, a professional tailor, expressed immense pride in his children’s achievements. Speaking to the media, he shared that his other children are equally accomplished:

  • Another daughter is currently studying at Khyber Medical College.

  • One daughter serves as a Grade 17 officer in the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

  • One daughter holds a PhD and is employed in Islamabad.

  • His son has completed a degree in Engineering.

Other High Achievers

In addition to Qandeel’s record-breaking success, other students also demonstrated exceptional academic brilliance:

  • Muqadas secured 10 gold medals.

  • Sabeen was awarded 7 gold medals.
