Sindh High Court Halts Anti-Corruption Action Against Three Officers in Mirpur Khas Examination Scam Case

Karachi (HRNW)- In a case related to alleged result tampering and corruption worth Rs200 million in Mirpur Khas, the Sindh High Court in Karachi has restrained the Anti-Corruption Department from taking action against Farhan Akhtar, Ali Gul Jalbani, and Zubair Katbar.

During the proceedings, the court directed the three officers to join the ongoing inquiry. Counsel Saulat Rizvi Advocate argued before the court that the alleged “crime” of the three officers was identifying corruption involving the Controller Mirpur Khas, Anwar Ali Rajput, who was accused of changing students’ examination results.

The lawyer further stated that the three education officers had written letters twice to the Member Inspection Team highlighting the alleged irregularities, but Anti-Corruption initially refused to investigate those complaints. He added that later, inquiries were instead launched against the officers who had reported the alleged corruption.

According to details presented in court, Farhan Akhtar and Ali Gul Jalbani serve as Deputy Secretaries, while Zubair Katbar is an education officer. An inquiry related to alleged corruption amounting to Rs200 million is currently underway.
