Islamabad (HRNW)- The Adiala Jail Superintendent has been summoned by the court in connection with a petition regarding family meetings with Bushra Bibi and access to a personal physician. The matter came before the High Court in Islamabad, where a petition filed by Bushra Bibi, wife of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, was heard.
Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir issued a two-page written order directing the Superintendent of Adiala Jail to appear before the court on May 12. According to the order, Advocate General Islam Naveed Hayat Malik informed the court that previous court directives had been implemented and that the petitioner had been heard by the Jail Superintendent over the telephone.
However, counsel Salman Akram Raja raised objections, arguing that Bushra Bibi was not being treated in accordance with the court’s orders and that, under judicial directives, she should be heard in person rather than over the phone.
The court subsequently ordered that the Adiala Jail Superintendent personally hear the petitioner’s daughter on Monday regarding the application. The Advocate General is expected to communicate this arrangement to the petitioner through Salman Akram Raja, after which the Superintendent will review the application, make a decision, and submit a report to the court on May 12. The hearing of the case was later adjourned until that date.
