Ankara (HRNW)- Turkey’s leading defense company Aselsan has introduced the latest maritime drone ‘Tofan’. Turkey’s leading defense company Aselsan has achieved great success in the field of modern maritime technology and introduced automated maritime drones, including an unmanned surface vehicle called ‘Tofan’ with extraordinary capabilities.
Tofan is specially designed for autonomous combat operations at sea. This drone is not only capable of carrying out deadly attacks but can also prove to be excellent for reconnaissance and intelligence missions. This 8.1-meter-long drone is equipped with a petrol engine and a water jet propulsion system, which gives it high speed and durability in water.
The most prominent feature of this modern drone is its ‘swarm intelligence’ and autonomous capabilities. With the help of advanced sensors and vision-based systems installed in it, it is capable of autonomous navigation, avoiding obstacles in its path and accurately identifying targets.
According to defense experts, the ‘Tofan’ is equipped with a high-explosive warhead, thanks to which it can successfully target enemy targets on the sea surface, coastal installations and important military assets. The addition of this technology is expected to further enhance Turkey’s maritime defense capabilities.
