London (HRNW)- Britain has rejected US President Donald Trump’s claim that a British ship was targeted in an attack in the Strait of Hormuz, stating that no such incident has been reported.
According to a report by the BBC, the UK Ministry of Defense and the Department of Transport confirmed that there were no reports of any attack on a British vessel in the Strait of Hormuz on Saturday.
However, the UK Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) stated that two ships, including a tanker and a cargo vessel, were attacked in the area, though their nationalities were not disclosed.
Earlier, President Trump had claimed that Iran carried out an हमला in the Strait of Hormuz, calling it a violation of the ceasefire and alleging that both a British and a French ship were hit.
Meanwhile, India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri also reported that two Indian ships came under fire in the same region.
The conflicting statements have added to uncertainty and concern amid rising tensions in the strategically important waterway.
