Iran Allows US Ships Through Strait of Hormuz Under Security Conditions

Tehran (HRNW)- Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Saeed Khatibzadeh has said that US ships may also pass through the Strait of Hormuz, provided they do not engage in any hostile activity. According to BBC Persian, Iranian officials stated that the strait is currently open, but for safe passage, vessels must remain in contact with Iranian forces to ensure technical and security coordination.

The deputy minister added that Iran will guarantee the safety of ships through designated safe routes. This statement comes at a time when US President Donald Trump criticized Iran, accusing it of not following the agreed approach regarding oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz.

Meanwhile, according to Iranian state media, the Revolutionary Guards have instructed all vessels to strictly follow maritime security protocols and use alternative routes to avoid potential threats, particularly sea mines. A route map released by the Guards indicates that ships entering from the Sea of Oman should use the northern route of Larak Island toward the Persian Gulf, while return traffic should pass through the southern route back toward the Sea of Oman.

Experts warn that continued tensions in the Strait of Hormuz may threaten global oil supplies, as the route remains one of the world’s most critical energy corridors.
