Karachi (HRNW)- Senior Provincial Minister Sindh Sharjeel Inam Memon has strongly condemned the statement made by the son of the founder of PTI regarding GSP Plus, terming it dangerous and against national interests. He stated that rhetoric against GSP Plus is unacceptable and such remarks amount to harming the country’s economic stability.
Sharjeel Memon emphasized that GSP Plus status provides crucial economic support to Pakistan and is directly linked to the livelihoods of millions, calling it highly irresponsible to politicize such a sensitive issue. He criticized PTI, alleging that its core problem lies in spreading and repeating false narratives.
He also rejected claims that the PTI founder’s family did not speak against GSP Plus, asserting that facts suggest otherwise and such denials mislead the public. According to him, even individuals with pro-India leanings did not take such a stance, making the remarks more concerning.
The minister further said that certain elements are actively shaping narratives that damage Pakistan’s global reputation for personal and political gains. He stressed that at a time when Pakistan’s economy faces serious challenges, unity and responsible conduct are essential.
Sharjeel Inam Memon made it clear that national interests cannot be sacrificed for political purposes and such actions will not be tolerated by the nation.
