Karachi (HRNW)– It has been revealed that FIA officers demanded a bribe of Rs 20 million from a builder or else threatened to implicate him in a false case. The builder wrote a letter to the DG FIA.
A well-known builder associated with the construction sector in Karachi has made serious allegations against some officers of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Karachi, saying that a huge bribe is being demanded from him by threatening to implicate him in a false hawala hundi case. This matter has raised concerns about damaging the Prime Minister’s business-friendly policy.
Farhan, the owner of a residential project under construction on Shaheed-e-Millat Road in the city area and a well-known builder, has written a detailed letter to the FIA Director General and filed a complaint in which he has alleged that some officers of FIA Karachi raided his office on suspicion of hawala hundi, but despite the fact that no illegal item or money was recovered during the raid, the officers demanded Rs 20 million.
According to the builder, the said officers first demanded Rs 20 million and now they have reduced the amount to Rs 15 million by putting pressure on them. They are being threatened that if they do not pay the amount, a case of fabricated hawala hundi will be filed against them.

Farhan further says that he has been working in the construction sector for the past several years and all the booking amounts, transactions and financial evidence of his project are available with complete documents. Despite running a registered business as per the law, if we are harassed and framed with such allegations, how will the business run?
He has also appealed to the top government figures and the Prime Minister to take immediate notice of the matter so that the country’s business-friendly policy is not damaged and the confidence of investors is restored.
