European Nations Reject Military Role in Strait of Hormuz Amid Iran Conflict

Brussels (HRNW)- European countries have declined to take part in any military action in the Strait of Hormuz, stating that they do not wish to become directly involved in the ongoing conflict with Iran.

On the sidelines of a European Union meeting, German Foreign Minister Johannes Waddevel said Germany does not intend to join any military mission related to the current tensions. He emphasized that the United States and Israel should clearly communicate their objectives and strategy to their allies.

German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius also confirmed that Germany will not participate in military operations, although it will continue supporting diplomatic efforts aimed at ensuring safe maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer stated that the conflict is not a NATO mission and that the United Kingdom will not engage in a broader war, although consultations with allies are ongoing regarding various options.

The statements reflect Europe’s preference for diplomatic engagement over military involvement in the region.
