Lahore (HRNW)- Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari has said that character assassination through false and obscene videos is not politics but a direct attack on the honor, dignity and rights of women.
In her statement, she said the accused, Falak Javed, should be presented before the court so that her statement can be recorded in the presence of the accused. She said she was also prepared for cross-examination and had waited for the accused to appear before the court.
Uzma Bukhari said the accused’s lawyers again sought an adjournment of the hearing. She added that the court has fixed September 12, 2026, at 10 a.m. as the final opportunity for cross-examination and made it clear that no further postponement would be granted.
She said the lawyers would have to appear fully prepared, otherwise her statement would be recorded through video link.
The minister said those using fake news, lies and character assassination as political weapons would now have to answer before the law. She added that the court had also taken notice of false reporting and disruption of judicial proceedings and warned that such disorder would not be tolerated in the future.
Uzma Bukhari said there would be no further delay and that the legal proceedings would bring the facts to light. She maintained that those responsible for falsehoods and character assassination would have to face the law.
