Islamabad (HRNW): The government has announced plans to establish a telemedicine centre to help reduce the growing burden of patients at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS).
The Health Minister has directed the relevant authorities to create greater public awareness about free treatment facilities available at panel hospitals, enabling more citizens to benefit from the services.
According to the Health Ministry, an awareness campaign will also be launched regarding the facilities available under the Prime Minister’s Health Card, informing the public about available healthcare services, panel hospitals and the procedure for accessing treatment.
Officials said the telemedicine facility could help provide patients with initial medical consultation remotely and reduce unnecessary crowding at major public hospitals.
