Dubai (HRNW)- The UAE Ministry of Defense has said that the Emirati Air Force took action against a drone reportedly approaching the country from Iran near its maritime borders.
According to the ministry, the drone was attempting to enter UAE territorial waters but was detected in time by the country’s air defense systems. Authorities said the UAE armed forces remain on high alert and are prepared to respond to any potential threats.
The ministry added that UAE airspace is being monitored around the clock, with suspicious movements being closely assessed. Citizens were urged to rely only on official and credible sources and avoid spreading rumors or misleading information.
The development comes amid heightened security tensions in the Gulf region linked to ongoing Iran-US hostilities. The UAE and other Gulf states have increased air and defense surveillance amid reported drone and missile activity.
The UAE Ministry of Defense did not provide further details about the drone’s intended target or whether the operation caused any damage.
