Tehran (HRNW)- Iran has claimed that it carried out a drone attack on the Al-Minhad Air Base in the United Arab Emirates, where US military personnel and helicopters were reportedly present.
According to Iranian state television and Reuters, the Iranian military said the attack targeted the base but provided no immediate details about possible casualties or damage. Iran said the operation was carried out in response to the reported killing of Revolutionary Guard personnel and Iranian citizens on Lark Island.
The claim comes amid heightened military tensions between Iran and the United States across the region. Iranian forces have previously threatened or targeted US military installations with missiles and drones.
There was no immediate independent confirmation of the reported strike, including whether it caused casualties or damage. The incident has nevertheless increased concerns over the security situation in the UAE and the wider Gulf region.
Tensions have also intensified around the Strait of Hormuz, with Iran maintaining that it reserves the right to respond to attacks, while the United States continues efforts to protect its forces and strategic installations in the region.
